Yes, this is a loaf pan filled with meat and some other goodies for a good home cooked family favourite.
Nothing fancy, just a great twist on hamburger meat… or use an alternative ground meat if you prefer.
To keep if fluffy vs dry, we’ve used a nice combination of spices and soaked bread to make your family fall in love with meatloaf again!
Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef (veal/pork mix works great as well)
- 1 tbsp oil, plus a bit more for the pan
- 1 egg
- 1 stale bun, soaked in water and squeeze all the water out
- 1-2 tbsp seasoning of your choice, combined… suggested: parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella
- 2 tbsp grated parmigiano cheese
- 3/4 cup frozen peas (can is fine if that’s what you have)
- 10 slices ham to line the bundt pan (regular pan is just fine)
Preparation:
- Soak bread in water and squeeze out excess liquid. Combine all ingredients (except the ham) in a bowl. Lightly oil your pan and line it with ham slices. Add the meat mixture to your pan and press down lightly. Fold over the remaining slice of ham if there is any sticking out!
- Bake at 375°F for 40-50 minutes or until the ground beef is fully cooked.
- Let cool for 5 minutes in pan before flipping over onto a plate. Place the plate over the pan and flip it all together. Let it cool another 5 minutes before cutting.
One not too fancy meal that will look quite fancy when served – be sure to let us know how your meatloaf cake turned out!
